Northeastern Kent County in northeastern Maryland... * Until 1045 PM EDT. * At 940 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Dover Base Housing to Massey, moving southeast at 40 mph. These storms have a history of producing widespread damaging winds across northern Delaware. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible. * Locations impacted include... Dover, Middletown, Smyrna, Milford, Denton, Harrington, Camden, Clayton, Lewes, Milton, Greensboro, Oakland, Ridgely, Cheswold, Millington, Sudlersville, Ellendale, Bowers, Goldsboro, and Woodside. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania... * Until 1245 AM EDT. * At 844 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
