SATURDAY...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, southeast winds 10 to 20
kt with gusts up to 25 kt and waves 2 to 4 ft. For the Gale
Warning, west winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt and waves
2 to 4 ft expected.

* WHERE...Tidal Potomac River from Key Bridge to Smith Point VA,
and Chesapeake Bay and adjoining estuaries north of Drum Point
MD.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 AM EST Friday.
For the Gale Warning, from 6 AM Friday to 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong southwest winds accompanying a
squall line will bring brief gale-force winds early Friday
morning. This will be followed by a brief drop in winds in the
mid-morning hours before winds jump back up to gale-force, but
this time out of the west-northwest by the afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 55 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast, and
northern Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and western
Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia.

* WHEN...From noon to 7 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
