...A FEW GUSTS TO NEAR 20 KNOTS ARE POSSIBLE... A surge of west-northwesterly winds is being observed on land and has begun to move into the upper tidal Potomac. Gusts to near 20 knots are possible during the next couple of hours. These should gradually subside through later in the night. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should exercise extra caution if navigating the waters during this time.
