...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut, Berkshire County in western Massachusetts, and portions of the eastern Catskills, Mid Hudson Valley, and southern Taconics in New York. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - After a lull in shower activity early this morning, additional showers and thunderstorms will develop by this afternoon and continue into the evening. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches falling on already saturated grounds will result in the potential for flash flooding. It will then fall below flood stage this afternoon to 8.3 feet by early tonight. It will rise to 8.4 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall to 8.0 feet tomorrow evening.
