...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut, Berkshire
County in western Massachusetts, and portions of the eastern
Catskills, Mid-Hudson Valley, and southern Taconics in New York.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- After a lull in shower activity early this morning,
additional showers and thunderstorms will develop by this
afternoon and continue into the evening. Additional rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches falling on already saturated grounds
will result in the potential for flash flooding. Some river
points may reach minor flood stage as well, especially along
the Esopus and Housatonic.

* WHERE...Still River at Brookfield.

* WHEN...Until this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Water floods lowlands along the Still
River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 2:45 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 11.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this morning
to 12.9 feet. It will then fall below flood stage this
afternoon to 8.3 feet by early tonight. It will rise to 8.4
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall to 8.0
feet tomorrow evening. It will then rise again but remain
below flood stage.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
