FOR CENTRAL LITCHFIELD COUNTY...

At 453 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over New Preston, or
7 miles north of New Milford, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

Torrington, New Milford, Thomaston, Kent, Litchfield, Northwest
Harwinton, New Preston, Terryville, Cornwall Bridge, Plymouth,
Harwinton, Bethlehem, Washington, Goshen, Morris, Warren, Cornwall,

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, including the
following county, Litchfield and east central New York, including
the following county, Dutchess.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 449 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Torrington, New Milford, Pawling, Pleasant Valley, Thomaston,
New Hartford, Amenia, Kent, Sharon, Millbrook, Litchfield,
New Preston, Gaylordsville, Cornwall Bridge, Wingdale, Dover

DUTCHESS COUNTIES THROUGH 530 PM EDT...

At 423 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Dover Plains, or 9 miles north of Pawling, moving northeast at 25
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
