...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Mainly snow, but a mix of sleet and snow mainly near the Connecticut coast and parts of the Lower Hudson Valley. Light freezing rain or drizzle possible late tonight. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may briefly drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow showers will still be possible through Monday morning with little potential additional accumulation. Hazardous road conditions are anticipated regardless. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. In New York, Southern Westchester, Bronx, Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Northern Queens and Northern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...From 1 AM EST Monday through late tonight. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...Brief minor flooding of the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. * SHORELINE IMPACTS...Breaking waves 3 to 5 feet along north to northeast facing shorelines along western Long Island Sound and Gardiners Bay could locally exacerbate flooding of shoreline roads and adjacent properties, with minor beach erosion also possible.
