Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...South to southwest winds will strengthen this afternoon into this evening before a potent cold front sweeps through the region tonight resulting in winds to switch to the west. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Northwestern Connecticut and western Massachusetts * WHEN...From 5 AM EDT early this morning through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of moderate to heavy rain along with some embedded thunderstorms are expected to track into western New England today before a cold front sweeps through the region tonight.
