...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches. * WHERE...Northern Middlesex, Northern New London, Southern Middlesex, and Southern New London Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The period of heaviest snowfall (1-2"/hr) will occur between 6pm and midnight, making travel very difficult. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution.
