At 1249 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 nm north of Fire Island Inlet to Great Peconic Bay, moving north at 35 knots. Locations impacted include... Long Neck Point, Horton Point, Smithtown Bay, Cold Spring Harbor, Stratford Shoal, Madison Reef, Gardiners Bay, Huntington Bay, The Race, and Mattituck Inlet. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. &&
