...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut, Berkshire County in western Massachusetts, Bennington and Windham Counties in southern Vermont, and portions of the eastern Catskills, Helderbergs, Schoharie Valley, Capital District, Mid Hudson Valley, and Taconics in New York. * WHEN...Until 3 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - With a humid air mass remaining in place, additional showers and thunderstorms with heavy downpours are expected to develop early this morning. As these showers and thunderstorms track southeastwards today, heavy rainfall rates will lead to an increased risk for flash flooding.
