* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, northwest winds 25 to 40 mph
with gusts up to 65 mph.

For the Freeze Warning, freezing or near freezing low temperatures
between 29 and 32 degrees.

* WHERE...Fort Collins.

* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until 11 AM MDT this morning.
For the Freeze Warning, from midnight tonight to 8 AM MDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few
power outages may result. Blowing dust will reduce visibility to
less than a mile in places. Frost and freeze conditions could kill
crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected
outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold, either moving
them indoors or covering with blankets.

To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap or drain any above ground
sprinkler systems.

NORTHEAST PLAINS...EXPANDING TO INCLUDE FIRE WEATHER ZONES 238,
242 THROUGH 244, AND 248...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 9 AM this morning to 6 PM MDT this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 238, 242, 243, 244 and 248.

* TIMING...From 9 AM this morning to 6 PM MDT this evening.

* WINDS...Northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 16 percent.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a
spark and start a wildfire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
