...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM FRIDAY TO 9 AM MST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected. * WHERE...The northeast and east central plains of Colorado, including Briggsdale, Fort Morgan, Byers, Limon, Hugo, Sterling, Akron, Julesburg, and Holyoke. * WHEN...From 3 AM Friday to 9 AM MST Sunday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Unsheltered people will have a high risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Also, livestock and pets will be vulnerable to the cold, so ensure adequate sheltering during this extended period of cold weather. &&
