The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind, low relative humidity and dry conditions, which is in effect from 8 AM to 6 PM MST Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 013 Sherman, 027 Wallace, 252 Yuma, 253 Kit Carson and 254 Cheyenne. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 5 PM MST this afternoon. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 8 AM to 6 PM MST Friday. * WINDS...Northwest 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 14 percent. * IMPACTS...Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Comply with burn bans and regulations. Avoid driving on dry grass or brush. ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM MST /9 PM CST/ THIS EVENING TO 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/ FRIDAY... * WHAT...Northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Colorado, northwest and west central Kansas, and southwest Nebraska. * WHEN...From 8 PM MST /9 PM CST/ this evening to 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/ Friday. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property and cause power outages. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Plumes of blowing dust will create pockets of low visibility.
