...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL UINTAH AND NORTHEASTERN DAGGETT COUNTIES THROUGH 445 PM MDT... At 413 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 21 miles northeast of Vernal, moving north at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Uintah and northeastern Daggett Counties. This includes U.S. Highway 191 in Utah between mile markers 373 and 380, and mile marker 394 and near mile marker 396. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm.
