...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 10
inches with locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 65
mph.

* WHERE...Northwest San Juan Mountains and Southwest San Juan
Mountains.

* WHEN...Until 5 AM MST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, warm clothes,
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by

b&AVALANCHE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAYb&

*WHATb& Heavy snow and strong winds will result in HIGH (4 of 5)
avalanche danger.

*WHEREb&the Flat Tops, Park Range, Grand Mesa, Elkhead Mountains,
Gore Range, Sawatch, West Elk, Elk Mountains, and San Juan Mountains.

*WHENb& Expect very dangerous avalanche conditions to begin on Tuesday
evening and last through Thursday.

*IMPACTSb& Large and dangerous avalanches will be easy to trigger.
Large avalanches will run naturally.

*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONSb& Travel in backcountry avalanche
terrain is not recommended from Tuesday evening through Friday.
Avoid travel on and under slopes with a slope angle steeper than
