...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 108
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest, southwest, and west central
Colorado and east central, northeast, and southeast Utah.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential
for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or
participating in outdoor activities.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Near record temperatures are expected across
the region.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

...AIR QUALITY HEALTH ADVISORY FOR WILDFIRE SMOKE FROM 900 AM
WEDNESDAY UNTIL 900 AM THURSDAY...

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has
issued the following...

WHAT...Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildfire Smoke.

WHERE...Delta, Montrose, Ouray, San Miguel, Dolores, San Juan and
Hinsdale Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to
Delta, Montrose, Nucla, Ouray, Telluride, Dove Creek, Silverton
and Lake City.

WHEN...900 AM Wednesday July 08 to 900 AM Thursday July 09

IMPACTS...Moderate to heavy smoke from the Ferris Fire and Gold
Mountain Fire is possible throughout the advisory area until at
least Thursday morning.

HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is
thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain
indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease,
respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults. Consider
limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present.
Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is
making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in
your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy.
