...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM MST THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE I-25 CORRIDOR AND MOST OF THE EASTERN PLAINS... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 238, 240, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246 and 247. * TIMING...From 9 AM this morning to 6 PM MST this evening. * WINDS...Northwest 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 65 mph. The strongest winds will occur from north of Fort Collins into the plains east of I-25. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 13 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Northwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts around 65 mph. * WHERE...Fort Collins, Briggsdale, Greeley, Fort Morgan, Byers, Sterling, Akron, Julesburg, and Holyoke. * WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will likely lead to rapid fire growth of any new fire. Areas of blowing dust will create poor visibility in places. Travel will be hazardous. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles and where extensive blowing dust occurs. Use extra caution. Avoid outdoor burning or any activity that may cause sparks. The strong winds will likely fuel rapid fire growth. &&
