...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...South Central Larimer County in north central Colorado... Northeastern Boulder County in northeastern Colorado... * WHEN...Until 500 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 356 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain fell due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Between 1.0 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Shower will continue through the early evening. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Saint Vrain Creek, North Fork Little Thompson River, Little Thompson River, West Fork Little Thompson River, North Saint Vrain Creek and Dry Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pinewood Springs. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause minor flooding of creeks and streams, roads and roadside culverts. The heavy rains could also trigger rock slides or debris flows in steep terrain. &&

Western Weld County in northeastern Colorado... * WHEN...Until 445 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 248 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Northeastern Longmont and Mead. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, highways and underpasses.
