The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 238, 239, 240, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 248, 249, 250 and 251. * TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM this morning to 6 PM MST this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon. * WINDS...Northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
