...SNOW SQUALL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM MST FOR NORTHEASTERN LARIMER COUNTY... At 754 AM MST, a dangerous snow squall was located near Virginia Dale, or 28 miles northwest of Fort Collins, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow and gusty winds leading to blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility of quarter mile or less. Wind gusts greater than 50 mph could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. SOURCE...Doppler radar and webcams. IMPACT...Dangerous and life-threatening travel conditions are expected to develop rapidly in the warning area. Locations impacted include... Stove Prairie, Pennock Pass, Mishawaka, Poudre Park, Livermore, Virginia Dale, Buckhorn Mountain, Cherokee Park, Red Feather Lakes, Teds Place, Rustic, Pingree Park, Laporte, Owl Canyon, Buckeye and Waverly. ...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 5 PM MST TUESDAY... * WHAT...West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible. * WHERE...Much of the eastern plains including, Briggsdale, Fort Morgan, Byers, Limon, Southern Lincoln County, Sterling, and Akron. * WHEN...From 9 AM to 5 PM MST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Strong winds will likely lead to rapid fire growth of any new fire. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Avoid outdoor burning or any activity that may cause sparks.
