Wave heights of 1 to 3 feet for Lake Tahoe. For the Wind Advisory, southwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 45 mph below 7000 feet and ridgetop winds gusting up to 85 mph. * WHERE...For the Lake Wind Advisory, Lake Tahoe and Independence Lake. For the Wind Advisory, Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...For the Lake Wind Advisory, from 2 PM to 8 PM PDT Friday. For the Wind Advisory, from 11 AM Saturday to 2 AM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for small craft. Blowing dust may reduce visibilities. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will increase Saturday through the morning and afternoon hours, with the strongest winds expected Saturday evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Now is the time to secure loose outdoor items such as patio furniture and trash cans before winds increase which could blow these items away. The best thing to do is prepare ahead of time by making sure you have extra food and water on hand, flashlights with spare batteries and/or candles in the event of a power outage. Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind. &&
