...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...High astronomical tides in the mornings will result in
minor tidal overflow and local beach flooding. Additionally,
elevated surf of 4 to 6 feet with local sets to 7 feet Sunday
will increase the risk for tidal overflow.

* WHERE...San Diego County coastal areas.

* WHEN...Through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Minor tidal overflow, beach flooding, and coastal
erosion most likely during times of high tides. Strong rip
currents and dangerous swimming conditions Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Predicted high tides at La Jolla: 7.0 feet
at 814 AM Saturday, 6.8 feet at 901 AM Sunday, 6.4 feet at 946
AM Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring, although water is receding and
forecast to improve.

* WHERE...San Diego River at Fashion Valley.

* WHEN...Until late this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 7.5 feet, Action stage. The first real impacts are
seen on the San Diego River at this level. Low lying roads in and
around Fashion Valley Mall begin to take on water. Avenida Del Rio
is the first road to begin flooding.
At 9.0 feet, More extensive low lying road flooding begins in and
around Fashion Valley including Fashion Valley Road. Parking
structures in and around Fashion Valley Mall can begin to take on
water at the lowest levels.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:31 AM PST Friday the stage was 7.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...Water levels are currently at action stage. It
will fall below action stage by later this afternoon and
remain below flood stage.
- Action stage is 7.5 feet.
- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
