...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Residual flooding is expected to continue tonight.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
county, Los Angeles.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Residual flooding will likely continue tonight.
especially in low-lying areas. In addition, there will be an
ongoing threat of rock slides and mud slides, especially in canyon
roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 545 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated rain coverage
decreasing in coverage and intensity. However, residual
flooding of low-lying areas is likely to continue through the
night due to the earlier heavy rains. Heed any remaining road
closures. In addition, there will likely be additional shower
activity tonight which could prompt additional flooding
concerns, as well as the threat of rock slides and mud
slides.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Long Beach, Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Inglewood, Culver City,
Downtown Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Hermosa
Beach, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Venice, Redondo Beach, Santa
Monica, Rancho Palos Verdes, Alhambra, Encino and Whittier.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Mud and debris flows will be possible across foothill and mountain
areas, including recent burn scars.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- This prolonged strong Atmospheric River storm system  will
bring periods of heavy rain through late this week. Potential
flooding impacts include the threat of significant and
widespread urban roadway flooding, a high risk of major rock
and mud slides, and rapid rises in creeks, streams, and
rivers which will likely lead to swift water rescues. The
recent burn scars will be at risk for debris flows, possibly
damaging. These flooding impacts will likely lead to
significant travel delays and road closures during this busy
holiday travel period.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Very
heavy rains that occurred earlier in the mountains continue
resulting in water drainage into the Antelope Valley, causing
flooding even where it is not raining.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
county, Los Angeles.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Several
structures are flooded. Numerous roads remain closed due to
flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water
and  may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or
standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from
the earlier rain to work through local drainage systems in urban
areas. Local media have reported water rescues.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 545 AM PST, significant flooding was already occurring in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lake Los Angeles, Palmdale, Lancaster, Quartz Hill,
Pearblossom, Llano, Littlerock, Lake Palmdale, Valyermo,
Desert View Highlands, Saddleback Butte State Park, Highway
138 between Llano and the San Bernardino County line and
Highway 138 between Quail Lake and Lancaster.
- Additional rounds of heavy rain on Christmas Day will worsen
the flooding risk.
