...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
counties, Los Angeles and Ventura.

* WHEN...Until 145 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 749 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain developing
across far western Ventura County, the eastern portion of the
Santa Barbara Channel, and the Santa Monica Bay. Short-
duration intense bursts of rainfall will occur across eastern
Ventura and western Los Angeles County over the next several
hours. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in
the advisory area.
- Due to the antecedent conditions, minor flooding and debris
flows are likely across the recent burn areas, including the
Franklin, Palisades, and Canyon burn scars.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Camarillo, Fillmore, Malibu,
Agoura Hills, Chatsworth, Woodland Hills, Encino, Santa
Monica, Moorpark, Santa Paula, Newbury Park, Westlake
Village, Malibu Creek State Park, Calabasas, Point Mugu State
Park, Canoga Park and Point Mugu.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

- At 718 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain developing
across far western Ventura County and into eastern portion of
the Santa Barbara Channel. Short-duration intense bursts of
rainfall will occur across the advisory over the next several
hours. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.

the advisory area. Minor flooding of low-lying areas is
likely.
