...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
county, Santa Barbara.

* WHEN...Until 1045 AM PST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over
roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 439 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated moderate to heavy rain falling with a band of rain
across southwestern Santa Barbara County. Rainfall rates
between 0.25 and 0.50 inch per hour have been observed with
this band of rainfall. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lompoc, Santa Ynez, Solvang, Highway 101 through Gaviota
State Park, Refugio State Beach, El Capitan State Beach,
Buellton, and Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* WHERE...Central Coast, Santa Barbara County Southwestern Coast,
Santa Lucia Mountains, and Santa Ynez Valley.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM PST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wet soils will increase the likelihood of
damage due to fallen trees.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
