Astronomical tides of 6.0-6.5 feet expected, leading to minor tidal overflow. * WHERE...Beaches of Orange and San Diego Counties. * WHEN...Through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Minor tidal overflow and minor coastal erosion expected during high tides. Additionally, elevated surf will lead to strong rip currents. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides are expected to be around 6.2 feet today, gradually rising to over 6.5 feet Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A beach hazards statement for minor tidal overflow means that high astronomical tides in combination with above normal surf will likely produce minor flooding of low-lying areas along the beach such as beach parking lots.
