...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...North Central San Diego County in southwestern California... * WHEN...Until 315 PM PDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 108 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hwy 79 Between Santa Ysabel And Warner Springs, Lake Henshaw, Warner Springs, S7 - East Grade Rd, Hwy 79 Between Warner Springs And Oak Grove, Hwy S2 Between Hwy 79 And Hwy 78 and Santa Ysabel Indian Reservation. - https://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. &&

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Elevated surf of 3-5 feet with sets up to 6 feet and astronomical tides of 6.0-6.5 feet expected, leading to minor tidal overflow. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...From early Friday morning through Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Minor tidal overflow and minor coastal erosion expected during high tides. Additionally, elevated surf will lead to strong rip currents. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides are expected to be around 6.2 feet, gradually building over 6.5 feet by Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A beach hazards statement for minor tidal overflow means that high astronomical tides possibly in combination with above normal surf may produce minor flooding of low-lying areas along the beach such as beach parking lots. &&
