...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to lower 90s at the beaches to the mid 90s to around 100 for the mesas and other higher coastal terrain. Nights will be very warm with low temperatures in the upper 60s to mid 70s. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. &&

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Minor coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents expected due to the combination of high tides and elevated surf. * WHERE...San Diego and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Minor coastal flooding and minor coastal erosion is possible during high tides, most likely during the evenings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Elevated surf of 3-5 feet on south and southwest-facing beaches. High tides are expected to peak between 6.5 and 7.0 feet during the evenings. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong rip currents and other hazards are possible. Caution should be used when in or near the water. &&
