...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 10 PM PDT MONDAY... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 10 PM PDT MONDAY... * WHAT...For the Beach Hazards Statement, Minor tidal overflow flooding and strong rip currents are expected. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor to moderate coastal flooding can be expected near times of high tide, especially with the Sunday morning high tide. For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 12 feet is expected with dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches. * WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, through late tonight. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 6 AM Sunday to 10 PM PDT Monday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 6 AM Sunday to 10 PM PDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Minor to moderate flooding of sea water is likely around high tide at beach and harbor areas that is uncommon with normal tidal ranges. Low lying areas will be most susceptible, including Oceano. Enhanced beach erosion is likely. The risk for significant damage is very low. There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. Large secondary high tides are also expected each evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides are expected to peak around 7.5 feet on Sunday morning, then around 7 feet on Monday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks. &&
