Western Contra Costa County in northern California... * Until 1130 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 837 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain at times. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Oakland, Fremont, Hayward, Concord, Berkeley, Richmond, San Leandro, Livermore, Mountain View, Alameda, San Ramon, Pleasanton, Union City, Walnut Creek, Dublin, Newark, Danville, Martinez, Pleasant Hill and San Pablo. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...HIGH WIND WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING... * WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible. * WHERE...The Bay Area, The Central Coast, The Santa Clara Valley and Eastern Hills, The Salinas and Carmel Valleys and Hollister Area, The Santa Cruz Mountains, and San Francisco Peninsula Coast. * WHEN...From Tuesday evening through early Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds could down trees, snap power lines, and result in property damage. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be extremely difficult and hazardous, especially for high profile vehicles. ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...San Francisco County, San Mateo Peninsula, East Bay, South Bay, and Central Coast * WHEN...From Tuesday morning through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A series of atmospheric rivers will result in multiple rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall this week across the Bay Area and Central Coast. An additional 2-4" of rain is expected across the interior with locally higher totals between 4-6" across the Santa Cruz Mountains and up to 8" across the Santa Lucia Range. Flooding potential will increase with each successive round of rain.
