The northern area of mid to upper level moisture and instability associated with the remnants of tropical cyclone Mario will continue to advance northward today and tonight. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms over the southern coastal waters today and tonight. Also, can't rule out isolated lightning over the Monterey Bay. Thunderstorms may produce gusty outflow winds, locally rough seas and brief heavy rain.
