For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves up to 25 feet, strong rip currents and sneaker waves. * WHERE...San Francisco, Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast, Northern Monterey Bay and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast Counties. * WHEN...For the Beach Hazards Statement, through 4 AM Friday. For the High Surf Advisory, from 4 AM to 10 PM PST Friday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion can be expected. Sneaker waves can sweep across the shoreline without warning, pulling people into the sea from rocks, jetties and beaches. Large breaking waves can overpower swimmers resulting in significant physical injury and increase the risk of drowning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, rocks, and other waterside infrastructure. A line of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms is moving into the outer waters. As this line of storms moves through, expect periods of damaging wind gusts up to 40 knots, frequent lightning, and small hail. Waterspouts are also possible.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible from multiple lines of showers and thunderstorms, strong at times, moving across the area. * WHERE...San Francisco County, San Mateo Peninsula, East Bay, South Bay, and Central Coast * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low water crossings may become flooded. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Numerous lines of showers and thunderstorms will move across the Bay Area and Central Coast through Friday evening. An additional 1-2" of rain is expected across the interior with locally higher totals between 2-3" across the Santa Cruz Mountains and up to 3" across the Santa Lucia Range. Flooding potential will increase with each successive round of rain.
