The National Weather Service in Medford has upgraded the Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 8 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Abundant lightning on dry fuels resulting in the potential for numerous new fire starts. * AFFECTED AREA...In California, all of Fire weather zones 280, 281, 284 and 285. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, from 2 PM until 11 PM PDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 2 PM until 8 PM PDT Thursday. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered to widespread thunderstorms with abundant lightning are expected.
