Coastal Waters from Pigeon Point to Point Pinos California out to 10 NM... * Until 100 PM PST. * At 1209 PM PST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 11 NM south of Santa Cruz Harbor, moving northeast at 20 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Santa Cruz Harbor. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects. Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible from multiple lines of showers and thunderstorms, strong at times, moving across the area. * WHERE...San Francisco County, San Mateo Peninsula, East Bay, South Bay, and Central Coast * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low water crossings may become flooded. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Numerous lines of showers and thunderstorms will move across the Bay Area and Central Coast through Friday evening. An additional 1-2" of rain is expected across the interior with locally higher totals between 2-3" across the Santa Cruz Mountains and up to 3" across the Santa Lucia Range. Flooding potential will increase with each successive round of rain. Water rescues may be affected by poor visibility from sea spray and blowing sand. Potential for increased erosion. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
