...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the following areas, Mendocino Coast, Northeastern Mendocino Interior, Northern Humboldt Coast, Northern Humboldt Interior, Northern Lake, Northwestern Mendocino Interior, Southeastern Mendocino Interior, Southern Humboldt Interior, Southern Lake, Southern Trinity, Southwestern Humboldt and Southwestern Mendocino Interior. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON... ...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT NOON PST TODAY... * WHAT...High astronomical tides and large surf may cause major flooding in low lying areas along the Redwood and the Mendocino Coast. Up to one and a half foot of saltwater inundation above ground level is possible in low lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Coastal Del Norte, Northern Humboldt Coast, Southwestern Humboldt and Mendocino Coast Counties. * WHEN...Coastal Flood Watch, from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon around high tide. Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide. * IMPACTS...Several coastal roads may be closed. Low lying property and some critical infrastructure will be inundated. Some shoreline erosion may occur. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Watch means that flooding is possible but not imminent. Coastal residents in the watch area should begin preparations for rising water and take appropriate action to protect life and property.
