...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southern California, including the following county, Riverside. * WHEN...Until 545 PM PDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 236 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... mainly rural areas of Riverside County - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MID-SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of Southwest California, including the following areas, Riverside County Mountains, San Bernardino County Mountains and San Diego County Mountains. * WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday morning through 7 PM Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Debris flows near burn scars are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rain expected in the mountains during the mid-morning to evening hours on Saturday. Thunderstorms that develop have the potential to produce rain rates of 0.50 to 1 inch per hour, locally higher.
