...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Minor flooding and minor debris flows caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Southern San Gabriel mountains and foothills of Los Angeles County, including the Eaton Burn Scar and southern Bridge Burn Scar. * WHEN...Until 900 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding and debris flows are expected, especially in and near recent burn scars. Also expect rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 551 AM PST, a band of slow moving moderate to locally heavier showers continued across the advisory area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Minor mud and debris flows are also likely especially in and near recent burn scars. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 506 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated a line strong storms over southeastern Los Angeles County producing heavy rain. Short-duration intense bursts of rainfall may occur across the advisory area. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Long Beach, Whittier, Alhambra, West Covina, Pasadena, Glendora, Carson, Port of Los Angeles, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, Montebello, Norwalk, Downey, Commerce, Hacienda Heights, Monterey Park, El Monte, Bellflower and Cerritos. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
