...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding and minor debris flows caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Southern San Gabriel mountains and foothills of Los
Angeles County, including the Eaton Burn Scar and southern Bridge
Burn Scar.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding and debris flows are expected, especially
in and near recent burn scars. Also expect rises in small streams
and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 551 AM PST, a band of slow moving moderate to locally
heavier showers continued across the advisory area. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Minor mud
and debris flows are also likely especially in and near
recent burn scars.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Glendora, San Dimas, Mount Wilson, Pasadena, Altadena, La
Verne, La Canada Flintridge, Azusa, Monrovia, Claremont,
Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Duarte and Irwindale.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following
county, Los Angeles.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 506 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated a line strong storms
over southeastern Los Angeles County producing heavy rain.
Short-duration intense bursts of rainfall may occur across
the advisory area. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause
minor flooding in the advisory area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Long Beach, Whittier, Alhambra, West Covina, Pasadena,
Glendora, Carson, Port of Los Angeles, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe
Springs, Montebello, Norwalk, Downey, Commerce, Hacienda
Heights, Monterey Park, El Monte, Bellflower and Cerritos.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
