* At 1051 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain falling across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 4 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1034 AM PST, Local law enforcement reported flooding already
occurring in the warned area. Between 2.5 and 3.5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Eureka, Arcata, Hoopa, Willow Creek, Orick, Trinidad, Maple
Creek, McKinleyville, Weitchpec, Westhaven-Moonstone, Salyer,

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Humboldt County.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM PST this evening.

* IMPACTS...There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides
along roadways. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An atmospheric river will move into northwest California through
this evening. Periods of moderate to heavy rain with rates of a
quarter to a half inch an hour are possible. Total rain amounts
of 2-5 inches are forecast. Rises in creeks and streams are
likely and could result in minor flooding impacts. Flooding may
occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
- This may include flooding on old Arcata road, Crannel Road and
Elk River road among other areas that typically flood.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California...

* Until 100 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to
excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are
inundated with water and may not be passable. There will be an
increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 907 AM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. Flooding is
already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 5.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Petrolia, Redway, Bull Creek, Ettersburg,
Briceland and Capetown.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Significant flooding of portions of Mad
River Beach Road. Water may flow across roads to Tyee City. Flood
impacts will be aggravated by high tides and strong, onshore winds.
At 23.0 feet, Significant flooding of portions of Mad River Beach
Road and adjacent farmlands is likely. May cause water to flow
across roads to Tyee City. High tides and strong, onshore winds
will aggravate flood impacts.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 AM PST Sunday the stage was 14.8 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage this afternoon
to 22.7 feet late this afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage this evening to 14.1 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will
rise to 14.8 feet tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall to 13.3
feet early Tuesday afternoon. It will then rise again but remain
below flood stage.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.7
feet on 12/02/2012.

River Flood Warning

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO MONDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Eel River at Fernbridge.

* WHEN...From this evening to Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Significant flooding of the western
portions of Cannibal Island Road, Camp Weott Road, the Salt and Old
Rivers, and all adjacent low-lying areas. Flooding in these areas
is exaggerated when crest timing is coincident with high tides and
strong onshore winds, and for longer duration events. A Special
Action Advisory is being issued to all owners of livestock in
low-lying areas of the Eel Delta. Owners of livestock should
consider taking appropriate action to protect livestock. At 22.0
feet, The western half of the Eel Delta may be completely flooded,
especially if at or above this level for an extended period of
time. This includes areas northwest of Loleta and Cannibal Island
Road. A Special Action Advisory is being issued to all owners of
livestock in low-lying areas of the Eel River Delta. Owners of
livestock should take appropriate action to protect their animals.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:15 AM PST Sunday the stage was 8.6 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this evening to a crest of 22.6 feet tomorrow morning. It will
then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.6
feet on 12/27/1945.
