Highest surf on south and southwest facing beaches. * WHERE...San Diego County coastal areas and Orange County coastal areas. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Areas of hazardous swimming conditions. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor beach erosion may occur across south- facing beaches. ...CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS LATE TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON... A moderate storm system will impact our coastal waters tonight through Thursday, bringing a chance of thunderstorms to the area. Thunderstorm activity is likely to be most hazardous for the waters south and east of Point Conception with peak timing expected Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Any thunderstorm that forms will be capable of producing local gusts up to gale force, rough seas, dangerous lightning, heavy rainfall with reduced visibility, and waterspouts.
