...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM PST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northern California, including the following counties, Butte, Nevada, Plumas, Sierra, Tehama and Yuba. * WHEN...Until 545 PM PST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 550 AM PST, local law enforcement reported mud and rock slides within the advisory area. Moderate to heavy rain is continuing to fall over the area and as a result minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding, potential mud and rock slides, and rises on small streams. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chico, Paradise, Oroville, Grass Valley, Brush Creek Rs, Pulga, Palermo, Downieville, Lake Wildwood, Feather Falls, Forbestown, Brownsville, Challenge-Brownsville, Challenge, Hurleton, American House, Frenchtown, Dobbins, Oroville Dam and Oroville East. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Wind prone locations along US-395 may see gusts up to 65 mph. * WHERE...In California, Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties. In Nevada, Mineral and Southern Lyon Counties. * WHEN...From 4 AM Sunday to 4 AM PST Monday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and there may be areas of blowing dust. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Now is the time to secure loose outdoor items such as patio furniture, holiday decorations, and trash cans before winds increase which could blow these items away. The best thing to do is prepare ahead of time by making sure you have extra food and water on hand, flashlights with spare batteries and/or candles in the event of a power outage. &&

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM EARLY SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of California, including the Greater Lake Tahoe Area and Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties, including the Susan River near Susanville and the West Fork of the Carson near Woodfords. Portions of western Nevada, including the Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...From early Sunday morning through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff will result in significant rises of rivers, creeks, and streams. Small streams and creeks may overflow their banks. Flooding is most likely in urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas. Rockfall is also possible in areas of steep terrain. No mainstem river flooding is currently forecast, but the Susan River near Susanville and the West Fork of the Carson near Woodfords are expected to exceed action stage and minor flooding is possible in these areas. The Susan River near Susanville may experience additional rises mid next week. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Enhanced runoff and sediment transport are likely below recent burn areas, but debris flows are not expected.
