...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM PST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following county, San Luis Obispo. * WHEN...Until 1115 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 734 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Rock and mudslides possible across steep terrain. Minor debris flows possible at Lake Burn scar. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Santa Maria, Nipomo, Guadalupe and Highway 166 between Twitchell Dam and the Cuyama Valley. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 AM PST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest California, including the following county, San Luis Obispo. * WHEN...Until 1115 AM PST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 529 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain with a convective line moving into San Luis Obispo County from the ocean. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.25 and 1.00 inch of rain have fallen with local amounts up to 1.75 inches. Rainfall rates between 0.33 and 0.66 inch per hour have been observed, so far. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo, Cambria, Grover Beach, Baywood-Los Osos, Cayucos, Shell Beach, Avila Beach, Diablo Canyon and Oceano. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Any thunderstorm that forms will be capable of producing local storm force winds and rough seas, dangerous lightning, heavy rainfall with reduced visibility, small hail, and waterspouts.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM PST THURSDAY... * WHAT...For the Central Coast, large breaking waves of 10 to 15 feet, with local sets to 20 feet on Wednesday, and dangerous rip currents. For Los Angeles County, 6 to 10 feet and dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches, Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 6 PM PST Thursday. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Minor coastal flooding possible around mid- morning and late-evening times of high tide on Tuesday and Wednesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers.
