...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM PST THIS EVENING
FOR SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY...

At 504 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in the warned area. Law enforcement has
reported vehicles stuck in flood waters on Fort Irwin Road near
Interstate 15. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life-threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings,
creeks, normally dry washes and roads.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Daggett, Newberry Springs and Nebo Center.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 15 in California between mile markers 81 and 111.
Interstate 40 in California between mile markers 4 and 37.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southern California, including the following
county, San Bernardino.

* WHEN...Until 615 PM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry washes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 426 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.25 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Twentynine Palms, Yucca Valley, Twentynine Palms Base, Joshua
Tree Lake Campground, Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms Airport
and Morongo Valley.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of Southwest California, including the following
areas, Apple and Lucerne Valleys, Coachella Valley, Orange County
Coastal Areas, Orange County Inland Areas, Riverside County
Mountains, San Bernardino County Mountains, San Bernardino and
Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire, San Diego County
Coastal Areas, San Diego County Deserts, San Diego County
Mountains, San Diego County Valleys, San Gorgonio Pass near
Banning and Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM PST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,
including low-water crossings. Flooding may occur in poor drainage
and urban areas. There is an increased risk for debris flows near
fire burn scars. Rockfalls and mud possible on mountain highways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A Pacific storm will continue to bring moderate to heavy
rainfall through this afternoon and evening along with a
15-30 percent chance of thunderstorms. The heavy rainfall,
along with periods of higher intensity rainfall, will
increase the risk of flooding, especially over the recently
burned areas.
