...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE PARIA RIVER AND AREAS SOUTH TO MARBLE CANYON REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 AM MST /445 AM MDT/ FRIDAY FOR COCONINO COUNTY... At 1050 PM MST /1150 PM MDT/, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has moved out of the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain fell earlier this evening, but only light additional rainfall is expected. Flooding impacts will continue. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Paria River south to near Marble Canyon. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Paria River. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and Lees Ferry. This includes the Colorado River between river miles 0 and 2. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Lee's Ferry Campground, Lees Ferry Campground, Paria Beach Camp Site and Lees Ferry Camp Site. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Colorado River, Cathedral Wash and Paria River. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Get out of the Paria River slot canyon!
