...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM MST THIS
AFTERNOON FOR SOUTH CENTRAL PIMA COUNTY...

At 418 PM MST, Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen across the
warned area. Flooding impacts will continue, with light to moderate
rainfall to continue over the next hour or so. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Mainly rural areas of South Central Pima County.

This includes Route 286 between mile markers 8 and 29.

This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations...
Arivaca Rd from Arivaca Junction & HWY 286.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* Dust Storm Warning for...
North Central Pima County in southeastern Arizona...
Southwestern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 500 PM MST.

* At 336 PM MST, an area of blowing dust was located 12 miles north
of Santa Rosa, moving north at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong winds
in excess of 50 mph.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel.

* Locations impacted include...
Oro Valley, Marana, Casas Adobes, Eloy, Avra Valley, Tortolita,
Picacho, Chui-Chu, Picacho Peak State Park, Pinal Airpark, Picture
Rocks, Red Rock, Cockleburr, North Komelik, Kohatk, Jack Rabbit,
Shopishk, East Chui-Chu, Silver Bell and Dove Mountain.

This includes the following highways...
Route 87 between mile markers 116 and 123.
Interstate 10 between mile markers 206 and 245.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.

...BLOWING DUST ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust
expected with thunderstorm outflow winds as the push west
northwest this afternoon and early evening. Localized very dense
blowing dust possible along Interstate 10 as thunderstorms move
northwest of Tucson through Pinal county late this afternoon and
early evening.

* WHERE...South Central Pinal County, Tohono O'odham Nation, and
Tucson Metro Area.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM MST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to reduced visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Persons with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay
indoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop in
visibility to near zero. If you encounter blowing dust or blowing
sand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as far
as possible and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights all the
way off and keep foot off the brake pedal. Remember, 'Pull Aside,
Stay Alive'.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM
MST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be developing
early this afternoon across eastern Pima and Santa Cruz counties
and push to the west northwest across the lower deserts of Pima
and south-central Pinal county. Some of these thunderstorms will
be capable of producing very heavy rain in a short period of time
leading to the potential of flash flooding.

* WHERE...A portion of Southeast Arizona, including the following
areas, Baboquivari Mountains, Catalina and Rincon Mountains, South
Central Pinal County, Tohono O'odham Nation, Tucson Metro Area,
Upper Santa Cruz River Valley/Altar Valley and Western Pima County.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM MST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
