Maricopa County in south central Arizona... Pinal County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until noon MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 902 AM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...South central Arizona, including the following areas, Maricopa, northern Pinal, and southern Gila counties including the Phoenix metropolitan area. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A strong weather system moving through the region will bring widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms this morning before tapering off during the afternoon hours. Moderate to heavy rainfall with localized rainfall rates of up to one inch per hour will be possible this morning.
