...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Minor flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE...The Greater Sedona area. * WHEN...Until 500 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 150 PM MST, National Weather Service Flagstaff doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms in and around Sedona. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Dry Creek, Jacks Canyon, Spring Creek, Dry Beaver Creek, Turkey Creek and Oak Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sedona, Schuerman Mountain Trailhead, Thunder Mountain Trailhead, Chimney Rock, Pyramid Moutain Trailhead, West Sedona, Crescent Moon Ranch, Baldwin Crossing, Doe Mtn and Bear Mtn Trailheads, Mescal Trailhead, Buddha Beach/Red Rock Crossing, Sedona Airport, Devils Bridge Trailhead, Cathedral Rock, Cathedral Rock Ranch, Soldier Pass Trailhead, Seven Sacred Pools, Little Horse Trailhead, Brins Ridge and Brins Mesa Trailhead. - This includes the following highways... State Route 179 between mile markers 306 and 308. State Route 89A between mile markers 364 and 373. This includes the following swimming holes... Buddha Beach "Red Rock Crossing" and Crescent Moon Ranch. - Additional information is available at weather.gov/flagstaff. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. &&
