...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Maricopa County in south central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 900 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 735 PM MST, Gauge reports indicated several washes still above alarm stage from the heavy rain earlier due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Apache Wash, New River, Cave Creek, Skunk Creek, Agua Fria River, North Canyon Creek, Beardsley Canal and Deadman Wash. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Arizona, including all of Maricopa County, Northern and Western Pinal County, and Southern Gila County. * WHEN...Until 11 PM MST this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, normally dry washes, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The combination of abundant moisture and a weather system moving into the region will support rounds of showers and thunderstorms today through this evening. Moderate to heavy rainfall with rainfall rates in excess of 1-2 inches per hour is expected with most storms.
