...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM MST THIS EVENING FOR THE WEST SEDONA AREA IN YAVAPAI COUNTY... At 628 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has ended across the warned area including the west side of Sedona. Between 0.5 and 1.25 inches of rain fell over a short period earlier this evening. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sedona, Page Springs and Red Rock State Park. This includes State Route 89A between mile markers 364 and 372. This includes the following swimming holes... Buddha Beach "Red Rock Crossing" and Crescent Moon Ranch. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Spring Creek, Oak Creek, Turkey Creek and Dry Creek. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded as well. Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. && FLASH FLOOD...RADAR INDICATED; FLASH FLOOD DAMAGE THREAT...CONSIDERABLE
