Navajo County in north central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 1115 PM MST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or occurring. Dangerous flooding over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 243 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated an area of very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Forestdale Creek, Silver Creek, Show Low Creek, Carrizo Creek, Corduroy Creek, Turkey Canyon, North Fork White River, Cottonwood Canyon, Walnut Creek, Cedar Creek, Thompson Creek and East Cedar Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, Wagon Wheel, Linden, Show Low Lake, Big Mountain and Hon-Dah. - This includes the following highways... State Route 260 between mile markers 330 and 357. Highway 60 between mile markers 317 and 343. State Route 73 between mile markers 355 and 357. State Route 77 between mile markers 343 and 345. This includes the following recreation areas andcampgrounds... Between 1.5 and 3.0 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Mineral Creek, Vernon Creek, Cheney Draw, Brown Creek, Big Hollow Wash, Little Colorado River, Mallory Draw, and Concho Creek.. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Concho Lake, Concho, Mesa Redonda, Vernon, Cerro Montoso Peak, Lions Park, Little Ortega Lake, White Mountain Ultralight Flightpark, Hunt and Zion Reservoir. - This includes the following highways... Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen over a broad area. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Silver Creek, Brown Creek, Rocky Arroyo and Concho Flat Wash. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Taylor, Shumway and Snowflake. - This includes the following highways... Highway 60 between mile markers 345 and 357. State Route 61 between mile markers 353 and 356. Roads are closed and impassable due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 200 PM MST, emergency management reported flooding in the warned area, with Highway 73 closed between Carrizo and Cedar Creek. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... North Fork White River and Bear Canyon. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cedar Creek, Cow Pasture Butte, Bull Butte, Blue Rock Butte, Carrizo, Cibeque Peak, Round Top Mountain and Cibeque Falls. - This includes the following highways... ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive and long duration rainfall. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeastern Arizona, including areas from Flagstaff to St. John's and areas northward. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Flooding will be possible over burn areas, low-water crossings, creeks, streams, washes and swimming holes. Some larger creeks and rivers are expected to exceed bankfull. Flooding of paved roads and highway underpasses will be possible. Unpaved roads could become muddy and impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Low pressure will interact with tropical moisture to produce numerous showers and embedded thunderstorms, with heavy rain that will fall over saturated soils and burn scars.
